On Wednesday, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development announced it had awarded $20.3 million to fund housing for low-income seniors and people with disabilities in North Carolina.

The funding is from HUD’s Sections 202 and 811 supportive housing programs.

Catholic Diocese of Charlotte has been awarded $2 million to build 13 units. The Affordable Housing Group of N.C. has been awarded $1.2 million to build 8 units.
