The Mooresville Town Board is scheduled to consider bids and award a contract for a road and sidewalk project for the Curtis Pond subdivision during its regular monthly meeting Nov. 14.

Mooresville Town Manager Erskine Smith said the subdivision has been languishing for about two years.

The project has had various developers, with the latest, MAG Land Development, filing for bankruptcy last year, leaving road infrastructure unfinished, Smith said.

GK Curtis Pond has bought the remainder of the lots from the bank. Smith said the town will use MAG’s bonds and letter of credit to complete the $195,000 construction project. GK has also offered $25,000 for the completion of roads and infrastructure.

Smith said the town will first use the bonds and letter of credit before the $25,000 offered by GK. Construction will likely start in the spring, Smith said.
