Jim Schumacher, an assistant Charlotte city manager who played a role in integrating the expansion of the Convention Center with the NASCAR Hall of Fame and a 19-story office tower, is retiring Jan. 1.
Schumacher has worked for the city’s Engineering and Property Management Department. But during the last four years, he’s worked on city land-use issues, among other things.
