Warren Cooksey, a GOP member of Charlotte’s City Council, was elected in 2007 and is serving his second term.
But he will have to face off with Jay Privette in a Republican primary for the seat next month.
We thought it was a bit odd, then, that Cooksey would draw attention to his challenger in a Twitter posting.
Last week, Cooksey tweeted: “Oh, look, I have a primary for #cltcc District 7. Here’s my opponent’s website: http://www.electjayp.com/.”
Perhaps Cooksey was up to something, though, because the link connects to a blank website.
