McGuireWoods said it has added four partners to its debt-finance practice group in Charlotte.

The law firm said Eric Burk, Jim Hedrick, David Lapp and Kent Walker, from the Charlotte office of Winston & Strawn LLP, will represent clients in a variety of syndicated finance and corporate lending matters.

The company has also announced that Ellen Ruff, former president of the office of nuclear development for Duke Energy Corp., has joined the firm as a partner in Charlotte. Ruff is part of the firm’s energy practice, where she will help clients with issues relating to state and federal regulation.
