Health care alliance Premier Inc. said Mike Alkire has been promoted to chief operating officer.
Before the promotion, Alkire was president of Premier Purchasing Partners, which offers group purchasing, supply chain services and resource utilization data to hospitals and health care facilities nationwide.
He became president of PPP in July 2006.
Charlotte-based Premier is an alliance of more than 2,500 U.S. hospitals and 75,000-plus health care sites.
