The Bissell Cos. has broken ground on two office buildings at Ballantyne Corporate Park.
Construction began Thursday on the 10-story speculative buildings that will feature a total of 550,000 square feet.
Charlotte-based Bissell called it the largest speculative office project in the U.S.
Company President Ned Curran said the project will total about $100 million.
The buildings, in the northwest corner of North Community House Road and Ballantyne Commons Parkway, are expected to be finished by the end of next year.
Bissell plans to build the buildings, and two parking decks with a total of more than 2,000 spaces, at the same time.
