Babcock & Wilcox wins $2B contract

Babcock & Wilcox Nuclear Operations Group has won a $2 billion contract to manufacture nuclear components for U.S. defense programs, such as naval nuclear power systems for submarines and aircraft carriers.

The work will begin this month and is slated to last 10 years.

The company is a subsidiary of Charlotte-based Babcock & Wilcox, which opened its headquarters in Ballantyne in June.
