Mortgage lender to add 30 jobs in Charlotte

Mortgage lender Foundation Financial Group will be expanding its operations in Charlotte and adding 30 new positions through the first quarter of 2011, doubling its existing Charlotte work force, the company said today.

The jobs will include entry-level positions, such as marketing professionals, as well as vice president positions in regional sales and mortgage loan officers.

James Brodsky, spokesman for the Atlanta-based company, said the Charlotte offices will continue to expand through 2011 but the amount will depend on how well FFG performs in each quarter. The first-quarter expansion is all the company is planning for now.

“Once we hit those objectives and we take a look at what the productivity looks like within the center, the sales volume will determine what any additional expansion will look like,” Brodsky said. “We take a pragmatic approach and go quarter by quarter.”

Right now, Brodsky said the Charlotte office has enough office space to accommodate the expansion and will not require any additional infrastructure. However, he added that the company tries to buy locally when looking for electronics and office furniture for new employees.

“We want to do everything we can to support the Charlotte economy and bring the unemployment rate down,” Brodsky said.

FFG also has mortgage operations centers in Raleigh, Jacksonville, Fla., and Atlanta and Savannah, Ga.
