What a blur the past two weeks have been.
During that time I said goodbye to my native New Orleans and the yet-to-be-plugged oil leak, moved out of my southeast Louisiana home, put it up for sale and settled into a new place in the Charlotte area.
It’s been a whirlwind two weeks, dizzying enough to make a NASCAR driver’s head spin. I never want to see a paintbrush or packing tape for a long, long time. Ditto for cardboard boxes.
Now I’m ready to put the pedal to the metal as the new editor of The Mecklenburg Times. This week is my first here, and I’m so excited to get started that the thought of unpacking all those boxes at my new home and wondering where random belongings are doesn’t even bother me all that much.
