CHARLOTTE – Mark Fenton really likes two things: exercise and busting misconceptions about exercise.
The former competitive race-walker will talk about both passions at a free workshop Thursday hosted by Clean Air Works!, a public-private partnership of local governments and business people that encourages employers to improve air quality.
Though workshop organizers hope to inspire pollution reduction – Clean Air Works formed in response to proposed pollution-control restrictions on businesses – Fenton most wants to help his fellow Americans improve their health through exercise.
To that end, he travels the country giving similar talks, advocating employer-sponsored exercise programs and policies for employees.
