After months of deferrals and a lot of anger from residents in one of Charlotte's historic neighborhoods, the Charlotte City Council has denied a rezoning request for a Walgreens drugstore in Dilworth.

Lincoln Harris’ proposed Walgreens at Kenilworth Avenue and East Moorehead Street moved one step closer to completion Wednesday night when the city of Charlotte’s zoning committee threw unanimous support behind the project.
