Gov’t files $25B mortgage settlement in court

The government filed in federal court Monday a $25 billion settlement with the five largest mortgage lenders, putting an official stamp on the landmark agreement over alleged foreclosure abuses.

Bank of America to settle $410M overdraft suit

Bank of America has tentatively agreed to a $410 million overdraft fee lawsuit settlement, according to court documents released Monday. The lawsuit was filed as a class action against some U.S. banks, but the Charlotte-based banking titan is the first to agree to the settlement.
