It was a rare day at Innovation Park; Kingsley was not on the premises. He was at the vet’s. Kingsley is an English bulldog belonging to Mercedes Merritt, a Loyola University Maryland graduate who, at 28, has risen like a meteor to the position of director of leasing for BECO South and has 2.5 million square feet of office space in Charlotte under her supervision, including the 1.8 million-square-foot-and-growing Innovation Park.
