Opponents and supporters of a controversial proposal to allow duplexes to be built in more parts of Charlotte seem destined to remain in suspense for months.

Under the proposal, the city would do away with some restrictions on where duplexes are allowed, essentially opening the door for them to pop up in places where they might have previously been banned.
