The 2013 Charlotte-area housing market is still on a boom as of the end of February. The value of permits issued in the first two months of the year in Mecklenburg County for the benchmark single-family detached home is up nearly 60 percent over the same period of 2012.
Fort Worth, Texas-based Horton has pulled 65 permits worth almost $8.83 million so far this year, according to county records as of Wednesday morning.

The county’s homebuilders in November continued their 2012 surge past the previous year’s building permit figures, according to just-released monthly and year-to-date statistics compiled by the Home Builders Association of Charlotte.
