Despite Krispy Kreme being based in North Carolina, there are but a handful of the doughnut stores in Charlotte. But while some Charlotteans are celebrating the arrival of the purveyor of high-calorie confections, some analysts say the store might struggle to find sweet success.

According to the Karnes Research’s first-quarter 2012 report, Cotswold boasts the lowest office space vacancy rate – 8.2 percent – in the county. That sounds like a good thing for owners of Cotswold office space. But Cotswold has its drawbacks.

Singh Development, based in West Bloomfield, Mich., with an office in Cary, plans to ask the Charlotte City Council to approve the rezoning of more than eight acres east of Randolph Road and south of Wonderwood Drive for a senior community.
