Blythe wins $1.5M contract for Sam Newell Road bridge

Charlotte-based Blythe Construction has been awarded the $1.5 million contract to replace a bridge on Sam Newell Road in Matthews. The bridge, which carries traffic over Irvins Creek, was built in 1945 and is considered “functionally obsolete” by the NCDOT.
