Some relief appears to be on the way for agents and sellers of short-sale properties. Last month, the federal government announced new guidelines affecting short sales of homes that are backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
Chiquita executives will get help finding appealing homes in the Charlotte area from local real estate companies Allen Tate and Cottingham Chalk Hayes. The fruit and produce company is moving from Cincinnati, and the relocation will reportedly bring about 400 jobs to the city.
Lynn Burnett didn’t have the greatest year in 2011.
As an agent for Charlotte-based real estate firm Allen Tate, Burnett said 2011 handed her one of the toughest markets she’s ever seen in her eight years working for the company.
Still, it was a better year than 2010, she said, if only because more people were buying.
