The largest municipality in Mecklenburg County outside Charlotte exploded in population — from 3,000 to 50,000 — in the past 20 years, and it just keeps on exploding. Fortunately, it’s been a largely happy explosion for Huntersville so far, town Planning Director Jack Simoneau said.
