Nucor Corp. this morning said it had higher earnings in the first quarter of 2011. The Charlotte-based company’s earnings rose to $159.8 million, or 50 cents per diluted share, up 416 percent from earnings of $31 million, or 10 cents per diluted share, in the first quarter of 2010. Nucor manufactures steel products.


Electrolux plans $14M expansion in Charlotte
