U.S. home prices rise at fastest rate since Feb. 2006 (access required)

Charlotte housing prices have rebounded to within about 8 percent of their pre-recession prices, according to a 20-city index created by Standard & Poor's/Case-Shiller. Only Denver and Dallas have exceeded pre-recession prices, while Charlotte and Boston are the closest to reaching their previous peaks.
