CHARLOTTE – Mecklenburg County has issued four building permits, valued at $34.5 million, to Wilmington-based Liberty Healthcare for its $40 million senior living facility, Brightmore at South Charlotte, which is at the intersection of Providence Road West and Old Ardrey Kell Road.
The four permits issued last week were for work on the living quarters and the nursing facility, according to county records. The most valuable permit, worth $23 million, was for the shell of the 238,599-square-foot building, records show.
Work began in August on Brightmore’s health and rehabilitation center and is expected to be finished in late 2013, according to a Liberty press release. The residences at Brightmore are slated to be completed in 2014. Greensboro-based Samet Corp. is the general contractor on the project.
In addition to the health and rehab center and the residences, Brightmore will also have a licensed assisted-living and memory-care center.
