LAKE WYLIE, S.C. – The two agents who constitute Real Estate Carolina Group have joined Wilkinson & Associates ERA, abandoning RECG’s association with Keller Williams.
Heather Lamp and Sharon Salisbury, co-owners of RECG, joined Charlotte-based Wilkinson Thursday.
“We interviewed with several different companies and felt that Wilkinson & Associates had the right tools and national exposure that would benefit our clients,” Lamp said. “They have a property-management department and also do residential sales.”
Lamp said Wilkinson’s fee structure attracted the two agents.
“Instead of taking the usual 70-30 split on commission, there is a set fee of $350 per transaction for each closing, and then we pay 5 percent to the ERA franchise,” she said. “That’s a pretty good savings, and so we’ll be putting more money in our pockets.”
Lamp said RECG’s signs and website won’t be changing. Working with Wilkinson will help RECG focus more on rental properties, thanks to its property-management department, she said.
Ian Corfield, broker-in-charge for Wilkinson, said he expected the company to attract more agents in the Charlotte area because of its fee structure.
“More and more firms in the area are trying to be as close to the 100 percent commission market as possible,” Corfield said. “We are not like that. We like to think that, given our branding with ERA, we are now offering the best value to any agent in the area that wants to check us out.”
