CHARLOTTE — During a REBIC-sponsored forum next week, California author and futurist Joel Kotkin will speak on how Charlotte should be preparing itself for a coming U.S. population boom.
Kotkin, author of ”The Next Hundred Million: America in 2050,” will deliver his talk at an event running from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Jan. 16 at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s Center City Building, 329 E. Ninth St.
There is no cost to attend, but there are a limited number of seats. Registration can be found on the Real Estate and Building Industry Coalition’s website.
Joe Padilla, executive public policy director for REBIC, said the forum will start an important discussion on Charlotte’s future development. Some members of the City Council and the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce will attend the forum, Padilla said.
