CHARLOTTE — Gantt Huberman Architects, a Charlotte-based company founded by former Charlotte Mayor Harvey Gantt, has been sold to a New York company.
Bergmann Associates, headquartered in Rochester, N.Y., and Gantt Huberman did not release terms of the deal.
According to a press release sent to The Mecklenburg Times by Gantt Huberman, Bergman has 375 staff members and 12 offices in the Northeast, Midwest and Florida.
“As part of a carefully planned growth strategy, Bergmann Associates identified Gantt Huberman Architects because of the firm’s expertise in higher-education design, desirable geographic location and complementary company culture,” the release says.
Gantt Huberman was founded in 1971. Its Charlotte projects include ImaginOn: The Joe & Joan Martin Center, the Charlotte Transportation Center and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s Center City building.
