PINEVILLE — Over part of last week and this week, Lennar Carolinas has been granted permits to build at least five single-family homes in Carolina Village, a Pineville subdivision for which the company has been awarded dozens of permits this year to build houses.
According to the permits, awarded by Mecklenburg County Friday and Monday, four of the houses, costing about $170,000 to $175,000 apiece to build, will have five bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths and nearly 3,000 square feet of heated space. The fifth home will be smaller, with four beds, 2 1/2 baths and about 2,500 square feet, and cost around $140,000 to build, according to the permits.
According to Lennar’s website for Carolina Village, eight existing new houses for sale in the subdivision are going for $195,000 to $250,000 each.
Lennar has been awarded more than 45 permits to build new homes in Carolina Village in the past 12 months, according to the county.
Lennar Carolinas officials could not be reached for comment.
