MATTHEWS — Mecklenburg County has awarded Charlotte-based homebuilder Liberty Oak permits to complete 10 unfinished patio homes in the Village of St. Andrews, a stalled neighborhood marketed to those 55 and up.
The project is part of a deal by a trio of Charlotteans — Todd Houser and Liberty Oak owners Chip Shelton and Jack Furr — who are buying up lots and unfinished homes in neighborhoods, like the Village of St. Andrews, Houser said.
When the work on the 10 partly built units is done and they are sold, Houser said, work will begin on constructing four new patio homes on the last remaining lots in the neighborhood. The homes will be listed in the $200,000 to $270,000 range.
