SOUTHWEST CHARLOTTE – A Winston-Salem-based information management company announced Friday that it is moving into its newly refurbished $3.3 million office off Westinghouse Boulevard.
COR365, a company specializing in the management and storage of business records, has been in Charlotte for more than four years, but has only been leasing space. The company purchased the 81,000-square-foot building in the Hart Business Park in April.
After the purchase, COR365 dropped another $1.5 million in upgrades, such as a 1,400-square-foot security vault, temperature and humidity controls, and in fireproofing the building. The renovations began in May.
Linda Edgerton, spokeswoman for COR365, said the company protects sensitive information for large companies, making the renovations necessary. Concord-based G.W. Liles Construction Company Inc. was the general contractor on the renovation project.
The company was working out of a building in the Ridge Creek Business Park, also in southwest Charlotte.
“By moving, we have increased our efficiency incredibly,” Chris Kelley, CEO of COR365, said. “We can get a whole lot more boxes in a whole lot smaller footprint.”
Kelley said that employees are moving into the office at Hart Business Park on Friday, but it could be three more months before all files and other inventory are transferred.
“We’ll be fully operational, but we’ll continue to work out of both offices until everything is moved,” said Kelley.
