HUNTERSVILLE — Carillon Assisted Living of Raleigh has requested a zoning change for 4.5 acres on Commerce Center Drive so it can build an assisted-living facility in Huntersville.

The land, zoned highway commercial, would have to be zoned neighborhood residential for the facility to be built, according to documents on file with the town’s planning department.

If constructed as planned, the assisted-living facility would be a two-story, 40,500-square-foot building.

Four & Associates of Huntersville owns the land, Carillon will develop it and Miller Landscape Architecture will design the building and grounds.

Project costs were not immediately available.

“That one’s a little further down the development pipeline for me to comment at this point,” Carillon spokeswoman Michelle Taylor said.
