In a section of Charlotte, builders face new height restrictions

Developer Roy Goode wants to put up an apartment building in Midtown, and he is convinced it must be taller than 40 feet to be profitable. But Kent Main, planning coordinator with the Planning Department, said a taller building won’t be possible under the city’s plan of turning the area into a pedestrian paradise.
