A Charlotte Area Transit System meeting set for Aug. 7 will offer the public an opportunity to comment on proposed route changes for Route 40X, Albermarle Road Express, and Route 9 Central Avenue.

The routes may change because CATS plans to replace one of its park-and-ride lots at City Save-a-lot No. 1 with a new park-and-ride under construction at Albemarle and Lawyers roads.

Charlotte-based commercial contractor Southside Construction is building the 224-space Albemarle park-and-ride, scheduled to open by Oct. 1. The meeting to discuss the possible route changes will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Main Library, 310 N. Tryon St.
