Citing increasing workloads for county building inspectors, the Mecklenburg County code enforcement department is changing scheduling requirements for its inspection-by-appointment and overtime-inspection programs.
Those who want to use the by-appointment service now have to schedule 24 hours in advance. Requests to use the overtime program must be made 72 hours ahead of time.
Those were the scheduling requirements before the recession. But when the economy soured, and demand for the
department’s services dropped, the department shortened the scheduling time.
