Charlotte-area home prices, including distressed sales, rose by 0.5 percent in May from the same month last year, a smaller increase than the 2 percent nationwide rise in prices, Santa Ana, Calif.-based CoreLogic said this week.
The report examined sales in Charlotte and Gastonia in North Carolina and Rock Hill in South Carolina.
From April 2011 to this past April, home prices increased by 0.1 percent, the report also said.
Excluding distressed sales, prices increased by 1.7 percent in May from May 2011. Prices rose by the same percentage in April from April 2011.
