Meritage Homes, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based homebuilder that already has a presence in Raleigh, is entering the Charlotte market.

Rick Roberson has been named the company’s Charlotte division president.

According to a press release, Meritage plans to open communities in Charlotte later this year. But the release was short on specifics about how many homes, and where, the company will build in Charlotte.

The company said it has homes in multiple states, including Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada and Texas.

Meritage said it opened a Raleigh division last year.
