Charlotte-based Carocon Corp. has been awarded a building permit for Building No. 3 of the Orchard Park apartment project at 9340 Lucy Jane Lane.
In January, Leon Levine, president of Levine Properties, announced the project, saying longtime business partner Dean DeVillers was also involved.
At the time, Levine said the project would have 259 apartments, cost roughly $20 million and sit on 25 acres on Orchard Lake Drive near the town of Matthews.
According to the permit, which was awarded last week, Building 3 will cost $2.8 million to build and contain 34 units.
The permit lists Cashel Rock Investors as the owner of the project.
Levine and DeVillers formed Cashel Rock in 2008.
