A rezoning to an O-2, or general office zoning, has been requested for a 0.54-acre tract at 5208 Monroe Road.

Francis Obeng, an internal medicine doctor, has submitted the request. The site is zoned B-1, or neighborhood business.

Obeng plans to renovate and expand a 2,000-square-foot vacant building to 3,000 square feet.

Charlotte-based Mind’s Eye Architecture has drawn the plans.

A rezoning hearing is set for June 18.
