For the fourth year, Charlotte-area real estate agents will be repairing homes for their struggling owners as part of the Charlotte Regional Realtor Association’s Realtors Care Day.
The event, a project of the Housing Opportunity Foundation, the charitable arm of the CRRA, will be held April 20.
About 500 area Realtors are expected to attend the all-day project that benefits 23 homeowners in Mecklenburg and Iredell counties, the CRRA said.
In addition to exterior repairs, homes will be given “adaptive safety” modifications, the CRRA said.
According to the CRRA, Realtors Care Day has helped 87 families since it was launched.
Also at this year’s event, the CRRA will kick off Green Week, an April 20-27 project to promote sustainability. As part of that initiative, Realtors Care Day volunteers will provide energy-efficiency kits to the 23 homeowners and help plant trees and shrubbery at many of the home sites.
Also during Green Week, a “Don’t Dump, Donate” event will be held April 25 for the public to drop off donations to Goodwill Industries. Donations can be brought to the CRRA’s parking lot at 1201 Greenwood Cliff in Charlotte.
