Commercial real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer disclosed the deal Monday. Chiquita, which is moving its headquarters from Cincinnati, will lease more than 130,000 square feet, or roughly 33 percent, of the 390,000, 20-story building in Uptown.
By September, Chiquita will occupy six floors of the building, CWT said.
Construction began this month on the company’s office space and is expected to be completed by the end of August.
LSP3 is the architect for the project.
Alan Bascom, Ralph Oldham, Cristy Nine and Patrick McCoy, all of CWT, handled lease negotiations on behalf of Chiquita. Anne Vulcano and Jessica Brown, both of CBRE, represented the landlord, Trinity Capital Advisors.
Chiquita’s chairman and CEO, Fernando Aguirre, said in a statement Monday that NASCAR Plaza is “the perfect location to base our global operations, and we look forward to joining the vibrant business community in the Uptown area.”
