RealtyTrac: Charlotte-area foreclosure activity up 27 percent

Foreclosure activity in the Charlotte-Gastonia-Concord area rose 27 percent in January compared with the same time last year, Irvine, Calif.-based RealtyTrac said today.
There were 1,367 foreclosure filings in January compared with 1,078 the same time last year.
Charlotte-area filings rose 16 percent in January from December.
