Commercial plans must be electronic after Jan. 1

The City of Charlotte’s Land Development Division is requiring all commercial plans be submitted electronically, effective Jan. 1.

According to a blog posting by the Real Estate and Building Industry Coalition in Charlotte, sealed, signed hard copies of plans should be scanned into a PDF format and emailed to [email protected].

Files also may be mailed to the office if they are included in a PDF format on a CD.

The land development division has offered the electronic plan submittal option (EPLAN) for commercial site plans for approximately two years. According to REBIC, “our customers have found the process to be most efficient and effective.”
