Charlotte-area closings up 
in October

The Charlotte Regional Realtor Association reports the number of home closings for October was 1,882, an increase of 12.4 percent compared with October 2010, when closings totaled 1,674.

Compared with September 2011, which had 1,968 closings, though, the number was down 4.4 percent.

The average sales price in October  was $194,837, down 3.6 percent compared with October 2010, when the price was $202,146, and down less than 1 percent compared with September 2011,  which saw a price of $196,649.
