When Rob Nixon and business partner Andy Wilson bought a rundown former church at 1212 Pecan Ave. in Charlotte in March 2007 for $650,000 from Russ-Mar Properties, Nixon said he felt like Christopher Columbus.
“I had my flag in the ground,” he said.
