DNC crunch will mean long hours for code enforcement

Mecklenburg County’s Code Enforcement Office is expecting to work its staffers 24 hours a day from Aug. 15 to Sept. 4 in the final rush before the Democratic National Convention.
Staff members will work 12 hours a day between June 15 and Aug. 15, said Gene Morton, the county’s chief building code administrator.
