The Housing Opportunity Foundation, the charitable arm of the Charlotte Regional Realtor Association, has awarded five local nonprofits a total of $10,000 through its annual Community Grants Program.

The program, in its third year, seeks to support organizations that address unmet housing needs in Mecklenburg and Iredell counties.

The recipients are Builders of Hope, $1,300; Carolinas Care Partnership, $2,500; Charlotte Family Housing, $2,500; Children’s Homes of Iredell County, $2,500; and Love In The Name of Christ, $1,200.
