Charlotte mayoral candidate Scott Stone is building a fan base in the construction industry, winning the endorsement of the Carolinas chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors.

The chapter announced their endorsement today, and a press conference is set for Tuesday at the ABC Gaylor Training Center in Charlotte.

The trade group’s endorsement is not too much of a surprise. The Republican, who is challenging incumbent Anthony Foxx, has been more vocal than Foxx about his disdain for government regulations disliked by the building industry.
