Statesville’s planning board is recommending new design guidelines for restaurants with outdoor dining.
The guidelines would allow business owners to have outdoor dining within the city’s central business district.
They spell out, among other things, perimeter dimensions for barriers, such as fences and ropes, and acceptable types of furniture, banning sofas, serving stations and bar counters.
