Charlotte-area home sales rose in July from the same month last year, but the average sales price fell, according to figures released today by the Charlotte Regional Realtor Association.
There were 2,173 closings in July, up from 9.7 percent from July 2010. Sales were down 6.7 percent from June.
The average sales price in July was $213,354, down 1.5 percent from the same month a year ago and down 1.4 percent from June.
The median sales price in July was $163,500, up 2.8 percent from a year ago and up 4.3 percent from June.
July’s average list price of $248,436 was up 5.9 percent from July 2011 but down 3.2 percent from June.
There were 2,083 pending residential contracts in July, up 17 percent from July of last year but down 11.9 percent from June.
July had 3,628 new residential listings. The average number of days a property was on the market from the time it was listed until it closed was 150, two days shorter than in June.
