Saying there’s potential in the families-without-children market, M/I Homes Charlotte plans to build homes in the Ardrey Crest community.
M/I, citing new research from Nielsen Claritas, said that more than half the residents in Ballantyne are families without children at home. Some are couples whose children have grown. Other residents are DINKs: double income, no kids. Nearly 58 percent of households within a 3-mile radius are families without children.
“Families without children are a growing population in the Ballantyne area,” said Tamara Lynch, M/I’s vice president of sales and marketing. “We’ve built in amenities designed to please this underserved demographic, while also appealing to families with children at home.”
Prices start at less than $225,000. M/I has opened a model home off Wade Ardrey Road.
Other builders, such as Lennar, offer homes in Ardrey Crest.
