Your house can be a Texas Roadhouse

Listen to this article

If you want a Texas Roadhouse steak — maybe the not-so-appetizing-sounding Road Kill — you’re going to have to mosey on down to the nearest location.

But thanks to Fort Mill, S.C.-based Muzak, you don’t have to go to Texas Roadhouse to enjoy the sizzling sounds of the contemporary country music that is played at the restaurants.

Muzak, which was acquired this year by Canada-based Mood Media Corp., was chosen by Louisville, Ky.-based TR to create a jukebox platform on the restaurant’s updated website. The feature allows fans of TR’s music to replicate the audio ambiance of the restaurants at their homes, offices or wherever and whenever the mood strikes them.

It’s “the next best thing to being here,” TR says on its website.

Perhaps. But it’s not so much fun to toss those peanut shells on your own living room floor.

Plus, it’s not quite the same experience minus Andy the Armadillo.
